The Barn to Run Winter Challenge is virtual event invites you to start 2024 with a 5k or 10k run, walk or hike on January 1st OR for a challenge that motivates you through the month, the option to run, walk, hike or bike 26.2, 50, 100 or 250 miles between January 1st and January 31st.  The price of entry is the same regardless of the event you choose… and so is the awesome swag! Because this is a virtual event HOW you do it (run, walk, hike, bike), WHERE you do it (road, trail, treadmill) and WHEN you do it (morning, afternoon or night) is up to you!

Event Details

Dates and Location: The Barn to Run Virtual Challenge virtual event invites you to start 2024 with a 5k or 10k run, walk or hike on January 1st or, for a challenge that motivates you through the month, the option to run, walk, hike or bike 26.2, 50, 100 or 250 miles between January 1st and January 31st. Challenge participants will be able to log their activities on the Results page throughout the month as they move closer and closer to achieving their challenge goal.

Where you get your miles in is up to you!

Timing: This event is more about kicking off the year with a fitness goal. Whether you do the 5k or 10k on New Year’s Day or one of the challenges throughout the month, you’ll be able to log your miles and upload time and distance data to the RunSignUp platform that is hosting this event. Details on that below in the “Results” section.

Registration Fees and Swag

The price is the same regardless of what distance you choose.  Register by the early bird deadline and SAVE! Pricing is as follows:

  • $39 if you register by end of Sunday, 12/17/23
  • $45 from Monday, 12/18/23, until the close of registration on 1/31/24

All participants in this event will receive:

  • A soft cotton, long sleeve Barn to Run t-shirt
  • A Barn to Run drawstring bag
  • Digital finisher’s certificate
  • A chance to win weekly Darn Tough Vermont Socks each week of January!

 

 

 

 

 

Downloading Your Digital Bib

All Barn to Run Winter Challenge participants have been assigned a digital bib that you can download and wear and/or share! Here’s how to access yours:
  • Step 1: Go to the Barn to Run page on RunSignUp here: https://runsignup.com/Race/MA/Westwood/BarntoRunNewYearChallenge
  • Step 2: Click “Find a Participant” in the navigation menu at the top of the page.
  • Step 3: Look up your name and click the “More Details” button to the right of your name (you will need to log in to access your information).
  • Step 4: Click “Digital Bib” in the secondary navigation menu at the top of the page (under the main navigation menu) and voila!… you’ll see your bib!

Uploading and Tracking Your Results

You run, walk or hike your own route, then upload your time and distance to the Results page of the Barn to Run Winter Challenge page on the RunSignUp platform here.  After registering, select the event you’re signed up for, search on your name, log in and then post your activity. The results submissions period begins on January 1st so you will not be able to complete this process prior to then.

If you’re doing the 5k or 10k on January 1st upload your results when you are done (technically, you have until January 31st to add them, but why wait?).

If you’re participating in the 26.2, 50, 100 or 250 mile challenge, you should add your run, walk, hike or bike distance and time after each session and the RunSignUp system will keep track of your progress.

Policies: Refunds, Deferrals and Transfers

Refunds: There will be no refunds. Be sure you are able to do the challenge before signing up. All participants will be mailed their swag whether or not they complete the challenge they sign up for.
